Shocked Back Into Rhythm
Well the New Year is here and it could be your year to break out. So how did 2011 turn out for you? Where you shocked that it wasn’t what you expected? Maybe it turned out better than you thought and you hit some big milestones. Maybe it was a shocking year to you either way and you ended the year either out of rhythm or maybe you ended it in rhythm and in sync.
Let me tell you about the end of my year that shocked me back into rhythm. This doesn’t have to directly deal with my business but has made me think about my business a little more about its success. Over the past few months I have been having some issues with my heart.
This isn’t the first time, back in 2005 I had a heart surgical procedure done that would help my heart from beating so fast, at times it would be at 252 beats per minute. The procedure was a success and I haven’t had any issues until here recently.
My heart will just go out of rhythm at hours at a time and over the last few months they have been trying different medications to remedy the issue. Well so far it hasn’t worked. I started a new medication the beginning of this week where I needed to go in for an EKG 2 hours after I took it to monitor my heart rhythm. I was to do this the first 3 days of taking this medication.
Day one and Day two went fine. I went in on day three and knew that it was out of rhythm and the EKG acknowledge the same thing. Well they decided for me to go to the hospital where the heart surgeon that did my procedure in 2005 which I have been seeing decided that he wanted to admit me, put me under and see about shocking me to get it back into rhythm.
In the little over an hour of time that went by that they hooked me back up to do the procedure I was back in rhythm. I told the staff that the thought of this that they shocked scared me back into rhythm. They monitored me for a while and then released me.
So it got me thinking about my business. Do I have a rhythm within my business on what I do on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis? Do I have to have shocking things happen for me to get back into a rhythm?
I don’t have a consistent rhythm within my business all the time and is something that I need to work on for 2012 and there are some things that happen within my business that do scare me back into rhythm of doing things differently or changing things.
One of the things that I have done at the end of 2011 for 2012 is I will be receiving some weekly coaching that I made the commitment by putting up substantial amount of money.
